Technica – The All Ladies Hackathon @ UMD

At BTI360 we’re all about crafting software and developing people

We couldn’t be more excited to sponsor an event like Technica! Technica is the first ever all-ladies hackathon being held on the University of Maryland’s campus this Saturday, November 7th and 8th.

With only 18% of all Computer Science graduates being women, the Technica team has set out to change this by creating a safe and encouraging place for women to explore their interests in technology.  For 24 hours straight, participants will be able to learn, explore, and hack alongside mentors to better develop their skills and creativity in the realm of computer engineering.

Members of the BTI360 team will work alongside Technica attendees to mentor them as they run into technical challenges, have questions or are just interested in learning more about careers in the field of software engineering.  In addition to helping sponsor the event, BTI360 will be providing a prize to the team that offers the best use of public cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Compute Engine or Microsoft’s Azure.

BTI360 sees this opportunity as a way to encourage and mentor young engineers and to encourage more women to get into the field.

Interested in becoming a teammate? We are looking to for fun, qualified engineers.
